Well, after more than 5,000 hours, HMS Rodney at 1:48 scale has been completed.
For those who don’t know, this was a Royal Navy battleship commissioned in 1927 and served throughout the world war 2. She carried 9 16” guns in three triple turrets. She was 710’ long and could sail up to 23 kt.
This model was 100% scratch built, with a aluminium plated hull, individual planking decks, and all brass or copper superstructures.
The model is almost 16’ long and weighs approximately 250kg. It is encased in a solid oak framed display case.
